Your wedding day is full of so many emotions, from joy to nerves, and on top of that is the need to stay on schedule and get ready on time. With so many moving pieces all around you, the morning of your wedding can be overwhelming and even stressful.
So, to help you prepare and make your morning as calm as possible, we’ve put together some of our top tips for helping you feel relaxed and chill on the morning of your big day!
Get plenty of sleep
We get it—you have friends in town, and you want to party. But there’s a reason more and more brides are opting to have their bachelorette parties well before the wedding day. You need a full night’s rest before your wedding to help you feel calm the next morning. Head to bed a little earlier than normal to give yourself more time to get to sleep and play some soothing music to help you drift off.
Make sure to eat
You may be feeling too nervous or excited to eat, but you really shouldn’t skip breakfast before your wedding. Chances are you’re have little time to eat throughout the day. Even if you have a full meal at your reception, you may be too busy greeting people and dancing to actually sit down to eat. So be sure to eat a healthy, hearty breakfast to start your day off right.
Your day may be packed, but be sure to schedule in some time for a little pampering. Take a luxurious warm bath with some candles and relaxing music or find some time to be alone and just take a breath and be in the moment. Do whatever relaxes you!
Give your hair and makeup artist plenty of time
When creating a wedding day timeline, many brides don’t give themselves enough time to get ready. Hair and makeup take time, so be sure to time your makeup trials so you know about how long you’ll need to get ready.
Invest in a cute prep outfit
You will definitely want your photographer to capture some of your getting ready moments, so you don’t want to be in an old T-shirt or your mismatched pajamas. Instead, purchase some cute bridal PJs or a colorful robe to get ready in. Bonus: you’ll feel fabulous!
Play some music
The right tunes can go a long way toward helping you stay calm and relaxed. Make a playlist of your favorite songs to listen to as you get ready. You may even find yourself singing along and forgetting all about your nerves!
Have a toast
Open a bottle of wine or champagne and have a sip with your bridal party! A little celebration can remind you of why this day is so special and maybe even calm your nerves. Just be sure to keep the drinking down to a minimum.
Create a cushion
You won’t stick exactly to your timeline no matter how hard you try, so it definitely helps to add in some cushion time. You definitely don’t want to feel rushed if things don’t go according to plan, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to truly enjoy the day!
