Capital on Baronne

Emile Weil, a prominent New Orleans architect, designed The Canal Bank & Trust Building at 210 Baronne Street. Built in 1927, Weil used mahogany trim, Tennessee marble, travertine floors, and brass embroidery to line the corridors, and he embellished the façade with limestone statues. Previously, the building housed professional offices and one of the largest banks in the South for almost 90 years. The bank lobby was built to project a sense of grandeur and scale unmatched by any other location in the city. Today, the original bank lobby has been transformed into the Capital on Baronne. Every detail has been preserved, from the irreplaceable plasterwork to the hand-carved marble columns. If you're looking for the perfect New Orleans venue, Capital on Baronne is the finest ballroom in New Orleans for wedding receptions , corporate events and more.

Providing every client with a top notch experience ….

“We recently celebrated my daughter’s wedding at The Capital. It was spectacular in no small part because of one of the most beautiful venues in New Orleans if not the most beautiful, exceptional food and phenomenal service. A special shout out to Brittani who accommodated the unique details which made the wedding so extra special. An off the charts experience. Thanks for the memories.” Steve

The moment I stepped foot into the Capital on Barrone, I had my heart set on having our wedding reception there. In my eyes, no other space could could even compete with it. The place is absolutely beautiful and timeless. Brittani accommodated all of our needs and more for our wedding day. She responded quickly to all of my text/emails and was so helpful the day of the wedding. She even saved the day and fixed the bustle of my dress when it broke after dancing! She is extremely knowledgeable about the wedding industry and has a set way of doing things, which made our planning experience less overwhelming. We got soooo many compliments on the food as well, everything was absolutely delicious! Our guests still rave about how beautiful the space was and how much they loved the food! I can’t recommend the Capital enough and have zero regrets!
